ITANAGAR, Apr 13: Accusing the authority concerned of seeking to deprive their ‘promotional scope’, the members of the Directorate Service Officers’ Association of Arunachal on Friday demanded immediate cancellation of the decision to recruit for 10 posts of director (administration, finance and policy).
In a representation to the deputy chief minister, the association stated that the decision to recruit for 10 posts of directors from among APCS (admin grade) officers would directly affect the promotional scope of many encadred and deserving officers.
It said it had raised the matter with the DCM and other cabinet ministers earlier, and that they had offered assurances.
The association expressed apprehension that if the order is implemented, it may jeopardize work atmosphere and create wrangling among the encadred and the APCS officers.
Stating that nowhere in India is a single department headed by two directors, the association demanded discontinuation of the posting of APCS officers to the post of directors and other junior posts.
It urged the authority that the posts of directors should be filled from among the respective departmental officers.
