Governor inaugurates infrastructure projects

ITANAGAR, Apr 13: Governor BD Mishra on Friday inaugurated the mini-secretariat building in Sagalee and the superintendent engineer’s office in Bobia in Papum Pare district.
Interacting with government officials, gaon burahs, and panchayat and public leaders, Mishra called for transparent and accountable implementation of development schemes.
He emphasized on education, particularly for the girl child, saying, “If the mother is educated then the whole family will be educated.”
The governor also urged the people to ensure cleanliness of their surroundings, and advocated identifying and developing the state’s natural endowments and tourism potential.
He encouraged the youths to join the Army, “so that they are employed and their youth power is channelized in a productive way.”
Among others, Urban Development Minister Nabam Rebia, PHED Minister Bamang Felix, Tax & Excise Parliamentary Secretary Tapuk Taku, and local MLA and former CM Nabam Tuki were present on the occasion. (PRO)
