Min for creating durable cultural assets

AALO, Apr 19: Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin stressed on creating “permanent cultural assets” like deres (community halls) and heritage centres to prevent recurring expenditure on repair and maintenance of temporary ones.
He said this during his visit to the Upper Colony dere here on Wednesday.
Many RCC and semi-RCC buildings have been constructed in Aalo East in the past, under SIDF, and emphasis has been laid on the quality of construction, Gamlin said, and gave assurance that fund would be provided for erecting a protection wall to support the collapsing road near the Upper Colony dere.
The minister meanwhile lamented the trend of filing of litigation over various schemes. “Such activities do not augur well for people’s prospects and unnecessarily halt the process of development,” he said. (DIPRO)
