SIGA, Apr 9: The Upper Subansiri district administration launched the third phase of the Centre’s Sansad Adarsh Gramin Yojana (SAGY) at Siga village in Chetam circle on Wednesday.
Sippi-8 GP segment has been chosen under Phase-3 of the SAGY, at the initiative of MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju.
Besides DC Danish Ashraf, DPO Millo Pushang, ex-MLA Tapen Siga, panchayat and SHG members, HoDs and others attended the launch function.
The DC urged the villagers to spearhead the process of implementation of the programme, and to “set a high standard of socioeconomic development for other villages to emulate.”
He appealed to the villagers to select schemes which serve common purposes and ensure uplift of the rural economy in the long run.
“No attempt should be made to include any scheme which benefits only a few individuals,” he cautioned.
The villagers assured to offer their support to the administration and the executing agency in the implementation of the scheme.
