Even as Arunachal struggles, SBI RO dismisses reports of cash crunch

ITANAGAR, Apr 21: even as the state has been facing severe hardship, The State Bank of India’s (SBI) regional office (RO) here has dismissed the reports of currency shortage in Arunachal Pradesh, stating that “there has been reasonable cash at many of the currency chests.”
“There has been no cash crunch in Arunachal Pradesh. There has been reasonable cash at many of the currency chests and we have been shifting cash wherever there is need,” said the RO’s regional manager (regional business) in a release, unmindful of citizens hardships.
Currency chests are branches of selected banks authorized by the RBI to stock rupee notes and coins.
“RBI has been sending cash remittance depending upon the need. We have received remittance against yesterday also,” the release, which was issued on Friday, said.
Assuring to maintain sufficient cash, the regional manager appealed to the people to not panic over the reports of cash crunch.
