Workshop on apple scab disease conducted

BOMDILA, Apr 24: Horticulture officers, field staffers and progressive farmers from temperate regions of the state participated in a two-day workshop on apple scab disease, conducted here by Srinagar-based ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-SITH) from 21 April.
Organized in collaboration with the horticulture department, the workshop was aimed at apprising the participants of apple scab disease, its causes, symptoms and management.
Drs Sajad Un Nabi and KL Kumawat from ICAR-CITH, and district horticulturist N Lobsang delivered a series of talks on different aspects of apple scab disease during the programme.
As part of the workshop, 45 participants were taken on a field visit to Wanghoo village to learn about identification and management of apple scab disease. They were acquainted with different aspects related to symptomology, integrated management and good horticultural practices in connection with scab disease in apple growing regions of the state.
