ITANAGAR, Apr 26: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has expressed deep anguish at the culture of unauthorized absenteeism, false attendance and habitual late-coming among government employees.
The CS expressed his opinion after visiting the tax, excise & narcotics commissioner’s office here on Thursday. Upon cross-checking the daily attendance register, Gopal found that a number of officers and officials were absent and had not reached the office on time.
He directed the tax, excise & narcotics commissioner to issue show cause notices to the delinquent employees and take disciplinary action as per the rules.
