PASIGHAT, Apr 27: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday attended the concluding day of the three-day rafting expedition, ‘Siang Rush Expedition 2018’, organized by Abor Country Travel & Expedition and the tourism department.
Addressing the participants at a simple function at Abor Country tourist resort near the Siang river, the chief minister said such activities would open up Arunachal as a favorite destination for kayaking and river rafting sports.
“Arunachal has lot many things to offer in terms of adventure sports,” he said, and expressed happiness that the youths and entrepreneurs of the state are now investing in tourism and are keen to explore more in this sector.
Earlier, the participants, who included a travel writer, filmmakers, government officials, adventure tour operators, and others – collectively dubbed ‘Friends of Siang’ – besides three kayak experts and a river guide, shared their experiences of the expedition.
The expedition had been flagged off from Geku on Wednesday. (CMO)
