AAPPTF organizes rally on road safety

NIRJULI, Apr 28: The All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) organized a ‘road safety and traffic awareness rally’ in the capital complex on Friday.
Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso, who flagged off the rally near Tago Memorial Hospital here early in the morning, appealed to motorists as well as pedestrians to strictly follow the rules for safety on the road, and to avoid traffic congestion.
Stressing the importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts, he appealed to parents and guardians to not allow minor children to ride or drive.
AAPPTF president Dobing Sonam appealed to road users to obey traffic rules and regulations.
He said the main aim of the rally was to raise awareness on traffic rules among the public, drivers and vehicle owners for their safety and security.
Sonam highlighted the inconvenience caused and the danger posed by haphazard parking, not using the dipper at night, and negligent driving.
AAPPTF vice president Tagio Sonam and All Naharlagun Youth Association leader Talo Sonam, among others, addressed gatherings at different locations in the capital complex, including the market areas of Naharlagun and Ganga.
Leaflets and pamphlets on road safety were distributed to drivers and owners of vehicles during a road show from Nirjuli to Ganga.
The road show and awareness programme were organized with the support of several youth organisations and youth leaders of the capital complex.
