Durga Vahini Shivir held

PASIGHAT, Apr 29: Fifty-five girls from 15 villages attended a weeklong ‘Durga Vahini Shivir’, which was held at the Engo Takar Gangging here from 23 April.
Organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the (camp) was part of annual training imparted to young girls all over India to instill discipline, patriotism and self-defence in them, and to teach them handicraft activities.
During the seven-day period, the trainees were taught to adapt to practical life and daily activities such as morning prayers, meditation, yoga, group discussion, games, and satsang.
The girls were also informed about the importance of local festivals, the indigenous faith and culture, and the vision of Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo.
