ITANAGAR, May 17: The Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) on Thursday reiterated its demand for complete bifurcation of the elementary and secondary education departments.
In a representation, the association demanded creation of separate posts of deputy director of elementary education and deputy director of secondary education.
It also demanded rollback of officiating appointees, including headmasters and vice principals in-charge in the education department, stating that the senior most PGTs/TGTs should be promoted to said posts.
The other demands of the ATA include enhancement of schoolteachers’ retirement age to 62 years; timely supply of teaching-learning materials; proper water supply and free electricity in all the schools; and revival of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme or implementation of the medical reimbursement scheme.
