CM urges ITBP to recruit more local youths

ITANAGAR, May 17: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to recruit more Arunachali youths, saying their familiarity with the terrain would be of immense advantage to the paramilitary force in defending the country.
The CM said this during a meeting with Inspector General (IG) Manoj Singh Rawat of the ITBP’s North East Frontier Headquarters, when the latter called on him here on Thursday.
“Being familiar with the terrain, the locals can help the paramilitary force become a formidable fighting force in the defence of our motherland,” the CM said.
He said that by providing employment to the local youths, the ITBP, being permanently stationed in Arunachal, would help the youths become of help to the society.
The IG informed the CM that the ITBP is taking measures to help locals in getting recruited to the force, such as by conducting training programmes for them to crack the recruitment tests and exams. (CMO)
