ITANAGAR, May 18: Solar LED streetlights will be provided to Tirap, Longding, Namsai, and Tawang districts.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu launched the project on Friday in the presence of NABARD chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala.
The project will be implemented under the RIDF by the NABARD, with a sanctioned amount of Rs 87,83,059.
During the event, the NABARD chairman briefed the chief minister on the dedicated ‘micro irrigation fund’ with the NABARD under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, which was passed by the union cabinet recently with a corpus of Rs 5,000 crore.
He also informed the CM about the ‘dairy processing & infrastructure development fund’, and urged the state government to avail it. The scheme focuses on building an efficient milk procurement system.
The chairman also suggested to the CM to conduct financial literacy awareness programmes at schools, the expenditure for which, he said, would be borne by the NABARD.
The NABARD official also informed the CM about EShakti – an initiative launched by the NABARD that aims at digitizing all the SHG accounts to bring SHG members under the fold of financial inclusion. (CMO)
