APP launches yoga & health camp

CHIMPU, May 21: The Arunachal Pradesh Police and the Arunachal Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association (APPFWA) on Monday launched a month-long ‘yoga and health camp’ at the parade ground of the 1st AAPBn headquarters here.
The programme will be celebrated as ‘wellness month’ and will conclude on 21 June, which is celebrated as International Yoga Day.
K Waii, wife of Home Minister Kumar Waii, who attended the inaugural day, led a plantation drive at the parade ground, which was followed by a ‘holistic health check-up camp’ for police personnel and their families.
The event was attended by, among others, DGP SBK Singh, APPFWA chief advisor Dr Sushi Singh, IGP Sunil Garg, DIGP Tusar Taba, and DIGP Take Ringu.
Dr Singh announced that during the health camp, the APPFWA, as a special gesture of public welfare, will distribute free spectacles after eye-check ups during the health camp.
The DGP stressed the need of holistic healthcare, and emphasized on the importance of meditation and yoga as means to a healthy and long life.
During the month-long programme, yoga and health camps will also be organized the police in all the districts.
