NAHARLAGUN, May 21: Chief Estate Officer Talo Potom on Monday carried out an eviction drive in the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) premises where the construction of the state medical college is set to begin soon.
Potom said that the director of the TRIHMS had earlier complained about the encroachment and illegal settlement on the land allotted for the medical college.
A similar eviction was carried out at the Naharlagun APSTS office, where the plot has been allotted for the medical college by the state government.
“The rest of the people have been evicted from the allotted area, while only a single structure under the transport office was occupied. So far, the house has been dismantled,” Potom said, adding that the eviction was required for early construction of the TRIHMS medical college.
