DC issues monsoon advisory

AALO, May 21: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan has issued an advisory to the people living in vulnerable areas here to shift to safer locations, in view of the coming monsoon.
The advisory was issued recently in apprehension that damages may be caused to houses, livestock, and infrastructure along the bank of the Yomgo river during the monsoon.
The DC advised the people living in locations like Kabu Mate, Puak Gumin Lower, and Gudda Line area in Siyom Colony, and Hissam Colony near the Mebbu river to shift to safer places.
The district disaster management authority earlier declared the areas as ‘vulnerable’, based on flood threat and large-scale damages in the past.
The DC advised all the villagers also to shift their livestock from the riverside to safer locations by 30 May. (DIPRO)
