NAHARLAGUN, May 21: The Arunachal Pradesh Bee and Honey Mission (ABHM) and other stakeholders under the aegis of the agriculture department celebrated World Honey Bee Day at the agriculture directorate here on Monday.
Hundreds of bee growers from Papum Pare, East Siang, Changlang, West Siang, and other districts participated and presented their honey and other products to the visiting dignitaries.
ABHM Mission Direcotr TD Neckom spoke about various activities being undertaken by the ABHM, and the challenges faced by it in the implementation stages.
The department handed over awards to the highest honey-producing districts, the best beekeepers of the state, etc.
Apex Bank MD T Tondok suggested that beekeepers be issued KCC loans for undertaking bee rearing activities.
Agriculture Secretary YW Ringu, who presided over the programme, lauded the initiatives of the department’s officials and the beekeepers of the state.
