PASIGHAT, May 24: A daylong workshop on ‘Groundwater utilization for irrigation’ was organised at the College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF) here recently.
Forty participants from the rural works department, the district horticulture office, the district agriculture office and the CHF attended the workshop conducted jointly by Tezpur (Assam)-based North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management and the CHF.
Chaired by CHF Dean Dr AK Pandey, the workshop featured discussions on aquifer management plan for East Siang district, wetland management, rainwater harvesting methods, and recharging groundwater aquifers.
