TATO, May 25: Twenty-seven youths, including registered travel agents, attended a workshop on ‘Initiating ecotourism in and around Tato’, organized here recently by West Siang DTO Rita Yorung and TIO Bishal Aran.
The participants highlighted the historical importance and natural heritage of the area, while the EAC said Tato would be ready for ecotourism before the Mechukha Adventure Festival 2018.
Meanwhile, a workshop on ‘Outdoor and field based activities in and around Mechukha’ was organized for homestay owners and youths in Mechukha, where mountain bike experts Mithun Biswas and Seeker Bengia demonstrated the different forms of mountain biking.
The programme was coordinated by the tourism department, with technical support from the Association for Conservation of Tourism and the Arunachal Pradesh Society for Education and Development. It was organized under the West Siang Ecotourism Development Phase-II initiative.
