ITANAGAR, May 27: Former Arunachal Pradesh PCCF-cum-principal secretary Ganesh Prasad Shukla passed away in Lucknow on 18 May.
He is survived his wife and three daughters.
On behalf of the state government, Forest Minister Nabam Rebia on Sunday offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
Shukla had joined service in Arunachal in 1970 and held various assignments till 1999, before being posted to Mizoram, where he served until his retirement.
Land records and sustainable development consulting adviser GN Sinha also mourned Shukla’s demise.
He said Shukla had made tremendous contributions in setting up of several reserved forest areas, wildlife sanctuaries, and national parks, besides establishing procedures and guidelines for timber operation and management, and control of wood-based industries in the state.
