TAWANG, May 28: Gauhati High Court Judge Justice Songkhupchung Serto inaugurated the Legal Literacy Club (LLC) at the government college here recently.
A legal awareness camp was also organized at the college by the Tawang District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), which was participated in by students and staff of the college and Manjushree Vidyapeeth, along with advocates and paralegal volunteers.
During the camp, Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Member Secretary Budi Habung highlighted the activities of the legal services authority in providing access to justice to the poor and needy sections of the society.
He also explained the role of LLCs in educational institutes in spreading legal awareness and acting as a bridge between persons in need of legal services.
Justice Serto advised the student community, officials, and the public to properly utilize the service of the LLC and the legal services available through the DLSA.
Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok and SP Harsa vardhan Mandava also spoke.
Among others, Tawang DLSA Secretary Damge Niri, Government College Principal Dr Yeshi Geysen, and Lama Thuptan Phuntso attended the programme.
