ITANAGAR, May 29: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) on Tuesday lauded the BJP-led NDA government’s people-oriented policies – especially women-specific reforms – as “bold initiatives,” and appealed to the central and state governments to launch more such initiatives in the future.
“The BJP-led NDA government’s people-oriented policies like Jan Dhan Yojna, Sukanya Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Parao, Dulari Kanya, and Ujwala throughout India, and particularly women-specific steps of reforms and enactments such as award of death sentence to rapists (of minors below 12 years) and life imprisonment to others for rape cases are bold initiatives and should be appreciated,” stated the release.
