KHONSA, Jun 4: The 36th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated the golden jubilee of its raising day, at its headquarters here on Monday.
The celebration was led by Commandant SR Behura and featured programmes including quiz competition and a volleyball tournament among its companies.
Earlier, the battalion paid homage to the martyrs of the unit, which was followed by a sainik sammelan, a mela, sports activities, etc.
To mark the end of celebration, a feast (bada khana) was organized, which was partaken by, among others, local MLA Tirong Aboh, Tirap DC PN Thungon, 16 AR Col Robin Kumar, and officials and jawans of the CRPF.
The 36 battalion was raised at Pfutsero, Nagaland, on 1 June, 1968, by merging the 2nd PAC of Uttar Pradesh. (DIPRO)
