ITANAGAR, Jun 7: The All Arunachal Contractors Welfare Association (AACWA) has written to the RWD commissioner, seeking immediate release of pending contractor bills.
“Many genuine contractors who have completed their works as per tender agreements are facing financial hardship in completing their projects as the department is yet to release their payments,” the association said.
It claimed that the rural development ministry had sanctioned fund way back in March and had directed the RWD to release payments within three days of receipt of fund.
“Four months have passed but till date concerned department is not releasing the payments to contractors against particular PMGSY scheme,” it said, and urged the commissioner to release the payments within 15 days, saying it would otherwise approach the rural development ministry’s director.
