YINGKIONG, Jun 21: The district disaster management authority (DDMA), in collaboration with the NDRF 12th Bn, Dhemaji on Wednesday conducted community awareness programme on disaster management at the Geku general ground under Upper Siang district.
Six hundred participants have been trained during the programme, including PRIs members, GBs, HoDs, members of NGOs, public, students and teachers.
The participants were trained on ways to respond and to act responsibly during times of disasters. Demonstrations on different method of ASR operation during disaster and vital safety tips on various disasters were the major highlight of the programme.
The Geku EAC also requested all the participants to take full advantage of the trainings, which would serve to be beneficial at times of emergencies.
The community awareness programme will be conducted at different schools and circles under Upper Siang district by the same team the entire month. (DIPRO)
