Ngandam inaugurates Metengliang CO building

HAWAI, Jun 26: Education Minister Honchun Ngandam inaugurated the Metengliang Circle Office (CO) building and the government staff quarters, in presence of government officials and public leaders in Anjaw district on 24 June.
Describing the newly constructed circle infrastructures as one of the best in the area, Ngandam called upon people of the 22 villages under the circle to cooperate with the government and take the benefit of various welfare schemes.
Agriculture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai also expressed his happiness on completion of the project.
Citing the viral epidemic that hit the cardamom plantation in the area, Dr Chai assured farmers that he would help them in taking up horticulture, like kiwi and orange plantations as an alternative to cardamom.
He also assured to set up a veterinary dispensary at Chaglongam- Metengliang CDblock.
APMDTCL Chairperson Dasanglu Pul stated that establishment of Metengliang circle office was a dream of her late husband and former chief minister Kalikho Pul. She appealed to the people to cooperate with the district administration in proper maintenance of the circle infrastructures.
On 25 June, Ngandam addressed a public meeting at the community hall in Yatong village under Manchal circle and appealed to the people to cooperate with the government for proper implementation of government programmes at the grass root level. He also advised the government officers of all departments to work sincerely and disseminate information about all flagship programmes of the centre and state governments.
The minister also assured to look into the public demand to upgrade the Government Upper Primary School there and assured all possible support from the education department.
Agriculture Minister Dr Chai highlighted various schemes of the government and asked the farmers to avail the benefits.
APMDTCL Chairperson Dasanglu Pul requested the government to look into public grievances submitted through a public memorandum.
Earlier, Ngandam, along with Mohesh Chai, Dasanglu Pul and other dignitaries, visited GHSS, Hayuliang and interacted with the school chairman and teachers.
The Education minister also attended the district level coordination meeting on education and called upon the teaching community to make Anjaw a role model district in the education sector. (DIPRO)
