Transport federation says no to vendors shed

ITANAGAR, Jun 27: The All Arunachal Motor Transport Federation (AAMTF) has sought the intervention of the Secretary (Transport) in stopping the ongoing construction for vendors’ sheds near Clock Tower and in the area opposite to Bank of Baroda, Ganga market here.
In a representation to the Secretary (Transport), AAMTF stated that the places, where the vendors’ sheds are being constructed, had been the common and permanent stoppages for all types of transport vehicles, like taxi, tempo, bus, trekkers and auto since the inception of capital city in 1978.
But, due to the ongoing constructions, parking of vehicles has become a huge problem, it said.
It stated the Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner has declared the parking areas as temporary vending zones.
The AAMTF demanded immediate shifting of the vendors to other appropriate places and dismantling of the structures from the both public parking places.
