DC promises drive against encroachers near Ganga Lake
ITANAGAR, Jun 6: The administration will soon carry out an eviction drive near Ganga Lake to evict encroachers, Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan said during a cleanliness drive conducted at the lake here on Saturday.
The DC appealed to the people to maintain the serene atmosphere of the lake, and expressed hope that continued cleanliness drives would ensure proper upkeep of the lake and protect it from antisocial elements.
Tourist Information Officer Dalin Tana also appealed to visitors to the lake to have civic sense and take the responsibility to keep the area clean.
He said the Ganga Lake Development Committee, chaired by the DC, is doing its best to provide proper bathrooms, more paddleboats, and water supply from Poma water treatment plant to the lake.
More than 100 volunteers including AE Yumlam Tach, IMC workers, NGO members, students, former panchayat leaders and senior residents participated in the cleanliness drive, which was organized under the directive of the DC. (DIPRO)
