DAPORIJO, Jul 3: The Upper Subansiri administration facilitated provision of various services to the people of the district during the Prashashan aapke dwaar (administration at your doorstep) camp it organised at the Rijo conference hall here on Monday.
Horticulture Parliamentary Secretary Punji Mara and Daporijo MLA Dikto Yekar visited all the department counters and interacted with the members.
Commending the administration for taking the initiative, Mara said such camps should also be organised in the remote circles.
Yekar advised the government officials to play an active role in resolving public grievances by educating and bringing awareness among the people.
Over 16 departments participated in the camp, offering services like Aadhaar enrollment, issuance of ST, PRC, income and employment certificates and learner’s licences, renewal of ration cards, distribution of LED bulbs and fans under UJALA scheme, issuance of forms for new electrical and water connection, etc.
The health department provided services such as screening for diabetes and hypertension under the NCD, with free checkups for blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI, and toxin analysis.
The event also saw participation by officials of the SBI, the RRB and the Apex Bank, who helped in opening new accounts, gave information on financial literacy programmes, and issued forms for PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PMJDY, etc.
Citizens were also imparted awareness on consumer rights, disaster management, the Motor Vehicle Act, the POCSO Act, and various other government schemes.
