Arunachal turning into rapists’ state under Pema’s rule: APCC

ITANAGAR, Jul 13: The Congress party in the state came down heavily on the state government over the increasing incidents of crimes against minor girls and women.
Reacting to the rape of a minor girl in Mebo in East Siang district, the party alleged that, once a peaceful state, Arunachal Pradesh has now turned into “Balatkari Pradesh (rapists’ state) under Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s reign.”
The party said the state has witnessed a sharp rise in criminal activities ever since the BJP government was installed at the helm.
While criminal activities like rape, murder, mob lynching, gun culture, theft etc, are on the rise, the BJP government is playing the role of a mute spectator, the party said, criticizing the state government for not taking any initiative to improve the law and order situation.
The party demanded swift justice for the victim of the Mebo rape incident.
