ITANAGAR, Jul 15: The All Ziro Hapoli Youth Association (AZHYA) has called off its proposed 12-hour Ziro-Hapoli bandh after a meeting with the Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner on 13 July.
The association said the decision came after the district administration assured to look into the three-point demand of the association within 15 days.
The demands include dismantling of structures illegally erected on public footpath in Hapoli and near the power house in Ziro; establishing police beat posts at Medical Colony and outside the Hapoli GHSS gate; and proper electrification of Ziro and Hapoli towns for public safety and security.
However, the association said that if the demands are not looked into within 15 days, it would resume its earlier stand.
The association had earlier announced a 12-hour bandh in Ziro-Hapoli town on 17 July.
