NAHARLAGUN, Jul 15: The Arunachal Cancer Welfare Society (ACWS), with support from the health department, volunteers, and hospital staff conducted a cleaning drive at the Tertiary Cancer Centre in the TRIHMS here on Saturday.
“Due to the ongoing construction work, the hospital premises were littered with construction materials and equipment, causing great difficulties for the ambulance and other vehicles to move freely during medical emergencies,” the NGO said.
The volunteers cleaned up the hospital and its premises, and appealed to the hospital authority to maintain cleanliness.
The Nirjuli-based ACWS seeks to create awareness on cancer, its early detection, prevention and treatment, under the guidance of doctors, oncologists, resource persons and the health department.
The NGO appealed to the youths of the state, the state government, the health department, and like-minded organizations to support its fight against cancer in the state.
