HAWAI, Jul 15: Anjaw Deputy Commissioner M Riba has issued an order prohibiting the movement of vehicles over the damaged Tidding bridge until it is restored by the BRTF.
The DC’s order comes in the wake of reports that a major cable of the motorable bridge has been damaged.
The Demwe-based 48th BRTF has engaged men and materials to repair the bridge, which is one of the lifelines of the district.
Riba said the police have been asked to monitor the entry of vehicles coming from Lohit district, to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.
Anjaw SP Habung Hailyang inspected the damaged bridge on Friday, and a police team under DSP K Duggong has been deployed to regulate traffic in the area. (DIPRO)
