DC orders suspension of teacher

YINGKIONG, Jul 21: Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk has ordered suspension of a teacher at the government primary school in Padu (Ebeng) for remaining absent from duty without authorization.
The order came after the DC inspected various schools in the district, without prior information to the school authorities, to check the functioning of the schools.
He urged parents and school management committees to constantly monitor the attendance of teachers posted at their schools and report absentee teachers to the authorities, saying it is not practically possible for him or the DDSE to cover all the schools.
He instructed the BEOs and the BRCCs to conduct regular inspection of all the schools assigned to them and strictly monitor the attendance of the teachers and the progress of the academic session in the schools.
Any lapse on the part of these officers or monitoring functionaries will also be viewed seriously, the DC said.
Reminding the teachers of their duty, he cautioned that negligence of duty or irregularity on the part of teachers would not be tolerated and appropriate disciplinary action would be initiated against teachers found neglecting their duties. (DIPRO)
