NGOPOK, Jul 21: A plantation drive was conducted by the All Mebo Constituency Students Union at the government upper primary school here in East Siang district on Saturday.
Among others, DDSE Jongge Yirang, the school’s headmaster Ombo Yirang, and All East Siang District Students’ Union vice-president (pro) Thomas Tayeng participated in the drive.
Meanwhile, in Longding district, scores of students, government employees and villagers took part in a cleanliness drive conducted by the Wancho Students’ Union (WSU) in Pongchau town on Saturday.
The WSU appealed to the people to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of garbage at the designated places after segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable items in separate waste bins.
In Namsai district, about 300 species of plants were planted by students, teachers and public leaders as part of Vanmohatsav celebration at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Mahadevpur.
