ITANAGAR, Jul 23: General Administration Secretary S Deori on Monday assured the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) that the office of the transport directorate would “possibly be shifted to either Chimpu or Chandranagar.”
Deori gave the assurance when members of the AAPPTF, led by its president Dobing Sonam, called on her at her office here and submitted a memorandum demanding allotment of a permanent office to the directorate, preferably in the proposed mini-secretariat in Naharlagun, as promised by the authorities earlier.
The AAPPTF stated that the transport directorate, “which is one of the most important establishments of the government in terms of revenue collection,” is presently situated in the vicinity of the proposed mini-secretariat. However, after the establishment of the mini-secretariat, the office of the directorate would be demolished.
Deori said allotting a space to the directorate in the proposed mini-secretariat would not be possible because of an “incorrect drawing of map by the PWD executive engineer concerned.”
She, however, gave assurance that the directorate would soon be allotted a proper place to set up its office.
