ITANAGAR, Jul 26: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has criticized the BJP-led state government for the “soft launch” of the Chief Minister’s Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY) as “a political prank prior to 2019 election.”
Lashing out at the state government for its decision to replace the Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (CMUHIS) with CMAAY even after repeated demands of the APCC for revival of the CMUHIS, APCC spokesman Mina Toko in a press release questioned, ‘If CMUHIS is not comprehensive and sustainable according to present government, then how the CMAAY, a mere extension of Modi’s another unsuccessful scheme, could be a patient friendly?”
“The CMUHIS, which was initiated by former chief minister Nabam Tuki during the Congress regime, benefited lakhs of people in terms of free treatment,” the APCC release said.
