Governor meets Army chief

NEW DELHI, Aug 3: Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra met Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat here on Friday, and the two discussed about recruitment and the ‘Pay Back to Society Group (PBSG)’.
Mishra conveyed to the general the goodwill of the people of Arunachal Pradesh for his initiative in conducting pre-recruitment training in the state and increasing the number of recruitment rallies, and for the proposed battalion of Arunachal Scouts.
The governor briefed the army chief on the progress of the PBSG, which is being promoted by Mishra himself. The project aims to ensure that a larger number of youths from the state join the armed forces.
The general said the Indian Army is always with the fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh, adding that “boys of Arunachal Pradesh, particularly those from higher reaches, will be an asset and recruited in the Indian Army for the security of the border with China.”
He expressed hope that more and more youths of Arunachal Pradesh would be motivated by their parents, guardians, gaon burahs and district administrations, so that a large number of them turn up for recruitment rallies. (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
