Rijiju seeks probe into death of Arunachalee youth in UP

NEW DELHI, Aug 7: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has expressed concern over the tragic incident in which an Arunachalee youth, Tage Dule, lost his life due to injuries he received while travelling by train in Uttar Pradesh on 3 August.
Rijiju, who has taken up the matter with the offices of the UP chief minister and the union railways minister, requested for investigation into the incident to ascertain the facts and circumstances that led to the death of the youth, who hailed from Ziro in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Rijiju sought action against the culprits, if there was any malafide intent. He said the probe should ascertain whether the incident was related to discrimination against people from the Northeast.
The MoS also asked the UP government and the railways ministry to extend all necessary support to the family members of the deceased.
He also expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
