ITANAGAR, Aug 10: The government of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with New Delhi-based Alternative Learning Satellite (ALS) and NGO Helping Hands.
Higher & Technical Education Director Tayek Talom, ALS national sales head Prateek Bhattacharya, and Helping Hands APCS core member Habung Lampung signed the MoU here in the presence of Education Minister Honchun Ngandam.
Ngandam informed that the scheme for sponsoring APST candidates for undergoing UPSC coaching was introduced in the budget announcement of 2018-19 by Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He advised aspirants to avail the opportunity to qualify for central services like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc, and make the state proud.
Under the MoU, initially about 30 APST aspirants would be sponsored by the state government for a period of one year to undergo coaching under the ALS for civil services examinations. Selection of aspirants would be done by the ALS through open advertisements, followed by a test, with assistance from Helping Hands.
