Sine village re-electrified

PANGIN, Aug 14: Sine village in Siang district has been re-electrified with Power Minister Tamiyo Taga inaugurating the power supply to the village on Monday.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the minister expressed happiness over the “development” and announced a relief assistance of Rs 10,000 each to all the victims of last year’s fire incident.
He announced that Lissing Mesing village would be covered under the solar light scheme, survey for which, he said, would be conducted by December.
Electrification in other villages would be covered under the Gram Jyoti Yojana and the Swabhagya Yojana, Taga said.
He also informed that the matter of establishing a circle headquarters at Nirle was under process.
Speaking about the agricultural prospects of the area, Taga encouraged the people to take up cultivation of medicinal plants, and to register themselves under the state medicinal plant board for promoting and marketing of their produces.
Advising the villagers to allow construction of viable hydroelectric projects, the minister encouraged them to utilize the compensation amounts in fruitful economic pursuits, harnessing the agri-horti prospects and potential of the area.
He appealed to the villagers to wholeheartedly support and promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and construct toilets in their houses.
