Condolences pour in over CO’s death

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Condolences poured in from various quarters over the demise of Circle Officer Likha Yach Debia, who breathed her last in New Delhi on Saturday, after a prolonged illness.
The staff of the legal metrology & consumer affairs (LM&CA) department said they are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of the CO, who had earlier served as inspector in the LM&CA department for 15 years.
“She was a very sincere, dedicated, hard working official. She was awarded gold medal twice, in 2007 and 2011, by the state government in recognition of her dedication and hard work,” said LM&CA Controller Hoktum Ori in a condolence message.
“Her premature demise is a great loss not only for the department but also the society,” Ori said.
The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) said Yach’s untimely demise has created a huge vacuum in the society.
“In her death, the state has lost a sincere, dedicated and hardworking administrative officer,” said NES president Bengia Tolum.
Besides the state gold medals, she had also received the Bharat Excellence Award from the Election Commission of India in 2015, and the North East Golden Personality Award in 2015. She was also one of the renowned artists of the Nyishi community, Tolum said.
Members of the NES prayed to the almighty to rest her departed soul in eternal peace, and also to give enough courage and strength to the bereaved family to withstand the tragedy.
The Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Yach.
“In her death, the Christian community has lost an energetic member,” ACF general secretary Toko Teki said in a condolence message.
“Yach had actively taken part in various church activities and was a well-known gospel singer,” he said.
“May God give solace and comfort to the bereaved family,” the message said.
The officers and staff of the capital complex deputy commissioner’s office also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The DC office extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Likha Welfare Society also expressed grief and sadness at the passing away of Likha Yach Debia and mourned her premature demise.
