DAPORIJO, Aug 20: The Ziro-Tai Anandobagan Highway Committee (ZTAHC) held separate meetings with the Upper Subansiri and Kamle district administrations on Sunday regarding maintenance and strict execution of road works in both the districts.
Attending the meeting held in Daporijo, local MLA Dikto Yekar said the quality of maintenance work, especially from Sigin Bridge to Dumporijo (within his jurisdiction), “will never be compromised” and assured all possible support to the ZTAHC team.
Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf also described the road connecting Ziro and Daporijo as “one of the worst roads,” and said the dilapidated road not only affected the public but also caused hurdles for government officers in executing official duties.
Ashraf also assured that the district administration would give full support to the ZTAHC and ensure that maintenance work is carried out as per the DPR. He cautioned officers against compromising with the quality of the work, adding that anybody found doing so would be dealt with strictly.
At the meeting in Raga with senior citizens and the district administration, Kamle Deputy Commissioner M Loyi and SP John Pada assured to support the ZTAHC in ensuring quality in the maintenance work.
