Farmers taken on exposure visit

SEPPA, Aug 21: Thirteen farmers from Pakke-Kessang circle in East Kameng district were taken on a three-day interstate exposure visit to organic farms in Pabhoi, Assam, from 17 to 19 August.
Led by Veo ADO Naiphu Wangsu, the farmers visited the organic farm of well-known woman farmer Neelam Dutta. She also imparted practical training on organic farming to the visiting farmers.
Scientists from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, apprised the team of the importance of organic farming, while scientist Rajib Kalita from Rainforest Research Institute, Jorhat, trained them on preparation of a low-cost compost bed from bamboo.
The exposure visit was organized by the East Kameng district agriculture department and the ATMA, under the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana.
