DUMPORIJO, Aug 21: Local MLA Paknga Bage on Tuesday inaugurated the drinking water supply project (Phase-1) here in Upper Subansiri district, under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.
Once it comes up, the project will feed drinking water to around 5000 residents of Dumporijo town, Bage said after the inauguration.
PHED Daporijo Division Executive Engineer Lod Tanyo said Rs 25 crore was initially proposed for the water supply project but the NABARD has approved Rs 10 crore only, due to which the project has been split into two phases.
He urged the MLA to initiate steps for Phase-2 of the project.
