CHANGLANG, Aug 28: Officers and subordinate staffers of Changlang district on Tuesday attended a hands-on training programme on satellite-based monitoring and geo-tagging of developmental projects in the district using web portal and mobile application.
Chairing the programme, organised by the planning & investment department, Changlang ADC Nampang Wangjen termed geo-tagging and project implementation “inseparable components,” and urged the trainees to acquire thorough knowledge of it.
Director (Monitoring) Mokir Ori informed that geo-tagging and satellite-based monitoring system were necessitated in view of “inaccessible places of project implementation,” while DPO S Timba said the officials would be practically involved in the task of geo-tagging, with guidance from scientists from the SRSAC and officers from the planning department.
Jairampur ADC SS Choudhury and Miao ADC T Rumi were also present at the programme.
In Pasighat also, departmental heads, field functionaries and other stakeholders are undergoing a two-day hands-on training on satellite-based monitoring and geo-tagging of developmental projects.
Technical consultant Timothy Nima from the SRSAC highlighted the usefulness of the technology in monitoring infrastructure and assets created. He also highlighted the role of the field officers of various departments in report generation.
DC Tamiyo Tatak also spoke. On Wednesday, the HoDs and field officers would be taken on a field visit to conduct practical training of geo-tagging of projects. (DIPROs)
