Assn seeks implementation of APDBE&P Act

KOLORIANG, Sep 7: The Kurung Kumey district unit of the Registered Contractor Association in a representation to the deputy commissioner here recently urged him to take urgent steps for early implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh District-Based Entrepreneurs & Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotional) Act, 2015, in all the departments while issuing public work orders of any project within the district.
It stated that, as per Rule 3(1) & (2) of the act, “the state government shall, in its development and welfare oriented projects in a district give preference to the district based entrepreneurs and professional to secure distribution of state development work among deferent categories of entrepreneurs in project work up to of involving such amount as prescribed in the schedule hereto.”
Claiming that public works in the district have been earlier issued to unauthorized persons not having valid firm of class/category to execute the work and contracts have been awarded to people not belonging to the district, despite availability of local contractors within the district, the association demanded early compliance with the act in the district.
