ITANAGAR, Sep 7: The Arunachal Youth Organization (AYO) has requested the state government to seek a CBI inquiry into the Potin-Bopi Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) road scam.
Addressing journalists at the press club here on Friday, AYO president Goda Takam said the organisation submitted a two-point memorandum to the chief minister on Thursday, demanding a CBI probe into the Potin-Bopi road scam and urging him to personally monitor the tender process under the PMGSY schemes to ensure their fair and proper implementation in the state.
The organization claimed that though the state government has allotted PMGSY packages to East Kameng, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Lohit, Papum Pare, Tawang, Upper Siang, Upper Subansiri, and West Siang districts, with an estimate cost to the tune of Rs 70,647.05 lakhs, several vital projects are being delayed due to corrupt practices of government officials and agencies.
