CHIMPU, Sep 8: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) organised an awareness programme on women and child rights at the Divine Mercy Catholic church here on Saturday.
Addressing the 41 participants, APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung spoke on the roles and responsibilities of the state legal services authority in facilitating access to justice by providing free legal services.
He also highlighted the role of paralegal volunteers and how they work as a bridge between the justice system and the community.
APSLSA legal aid counsel Jumgam Jini spoke on child labour, child marriage and human trafficking issues, while legal aid counsel Nani Modi highlighted women’s rights, domestic violence against women, sexual harassment at workplace, and PNDT.
