RUKSIN, Sep 11: The recently formed Staff Selection Board (SSB) will conduct its first recruitment exam in December to fill up vacant posts of Group C staff, informed Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday.
Attending the Bango Solung festival here in East Siang district, Pema said forming the SSB was the biggest reform ever undertaken by the state government, and assured that recruitment through the board would be done through merit and without conducting interviews.
He said consultations are being held with the UPSC, the Railway Board, and the Centre’s Staff Selection Commission to make the SSB efficient, effective and corruption-free.
The chief minister lauded the Adi community for their contribution towards the development of Arunachal, terming them one of the most progressive tribes of the state.
The establishment of the Sainik School at Niglok would not have been possible without the community’s support, he said, appreciating the forthcoming nature of the community towards development.
Responding to a public memorandum, the CM assured support for flood protection work in Miglung village area to protect the Remi steel bridge. He also assured to take up work for construction of a mini-secretariat for the Ruksin ADC HQ in the next financial year.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, state BJP president Tapir Gao, and Pasighat (West) MLA Tatung Jamoh also spoke.
Earlier, the CM inaugurated the steel bridge over the Remi river, near Miglung village, constructed under the PMGSY. He also inaugurated the guest house here, constructed by the rural works department. (CMO)
